During one Spring Break, a couple of hillbillies named Tucker (Alan Tudyk) and Dale (Tyler Labine) try to introduce themselves to a group of college kids who are going on a camping trip. However, the kids are afraid of them as they drive away to the campsite. The two guys decide to try renovating their cabin in the woods, but the kids end up camping nearby and think that they are serial killers from a slasher flick.
One night, as the group goes skinny dipping in a lake, Allison (Katrina Bowden) has trouble swimming and nearly drowns until Tucker and Dale help save her and take her back to their cabin. However, the rest of the campers think that Tucker and Dale kidnapped and plan to kill her, so they try to spy on the place and hatch a plan to rescue her while Tucker and Dale just want her help with fixing their cabin. One by one, the kids try to attack Tucker and Dale but end up dying off in horrible accidents, causing Tucker and Dale to wonder just what the hell is going on and why they want to kill themselves on their property.
