I like Kate Beckinsale in tight leather. That is my answer to that statement. Plus guns. And Bill Nighy. Seriously, the movies aren't a bad way to waste a couple hours, don't understand some of the hardcore hate.
You know what? I like these movies.

These movies seem pretty alright when they're boiled down to five minutes each. Still have no desire to watch any of them completely though, even if Beckinsale looks great in that outfit. And man, they are so damn blue. That filter got annoying by the end of this feature, I couldn't imagine watching four full movies with it.

Dat ass... In SmurfVision!!
Kate Beckinsale is really quite a terrible actress. She doesn't act so much as pose. But she is very photogenic so she gets away with it.
But seriously, has anyone actually seen a great Kate Beckinsale performance?
Wasn't she in The Aviator? I don't remember her being particularly bad in that.
I don't mind her as an actress, and I certainly don't mind her looks.

the Underworld series is oddly good. One of my friends thinks its some deep mythology wrapped in matrix action. I've only see the first two which were solid films don't really wana see the third since it looks dumb.
Just finished watching all three for the first time. I agree, the first two movies were good. Definitely stay away from the third one!

I'm so glad Rorie is doing this - this franchise is so fucking stupid, I can't wait for him to make fun of it.
I find it really depressing that the only two ladies who seem able to open an action film are Kate Beckinsale and Milla Jovovich (who has almost entirely run out of the goodwill Fifth Element earned her). And even that's because they're both just starring in films directed by their hubbies. Still, there have to be better female action movies than this? Here's hoping Gina Carano's Haywire does well. These Underworld movies are serious garbage.
Well there are people like him who enjoyed it. So can you please chill out?
Also my question is what the heck?
Rorie hates the movies so he's making a video about catching you up on the "dumb" series....
That in my mind makes no logical sense. As a big fans of the series, and someone who reads a lot of internet reviews. I ask why the hell do you have someone catching everyone up on the series that also hates the series and puts it down while catching us up. I'm not trying to a be a "troll" here I just don't understand that. You may as well just slap the entire fanbase is what it feels like.

I can kind of agree. The 3rd movie was not very great in my personal opinion. Then again I'm against prequels is all.
Although I will say I really enjoyed the first 2.@Artie said:
I really don't get the amount of hate these movies get. Hot chick, leather, guns, werewolves, vampires and a sleek visual style (It did "everything is blue" before it was cool). Can't wait for the new one.
Pretty much what I'm thinking.

Never knew how much hate these movies got. I have enjoyed all of them for the awesome effects and cool fight scenes. Anyone expecting anything more is foolish.
I can agree, although I do find the plot kind of fun.
For the record, I don't even necessarily mind Underworld all that much, mostly because it's got the most Bill Nighy, and he is fucking fantastic. Underworld: Evolution takes itself wayyyyyyy too fucking seriously, though. And Rise Of The Lycans is just completely unnecessary in every way, since it tells a story that we've already heard the ending to.

Thank you for explaining some. I appreciate it.
I can admit that the Underworld movies arn't any kind of intellectual exercise but I still love them dearly. If only for the fact that they keep to the standards of vampires and werewolves hating one another and still being pretty evil monsters who use humans as food.

Here's What You Missed: Underworld
Want to catch up on the Underworld series before Awakening comes out? Probably not, but here's this anyway! |
|
Trailer 2: Underworld Awakening
The continuing mystery of these films is how precisely Kate Beckinsale continues to fit into these outfits. I guess blood is a low-calorie food. |

Trailer: Underworld: Awakening
At some point, a studio name like "Screen Gems" really starts to seem like false advertising. |
