Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) was a sketch-comedy show created and starring the Chicago-based improv group of the same name. The UCB currently run classes and theaters in LA, which frequently host stand-up, improv, and other comedy performances. Each episode consisted of a handful of stand-alone sketches that often connected back to each other at each episodes' end. In addition, each season ended with a special "theme" episode whose content was foreshadowed in the earlier episodes of the season (Little Donny/The Titté Brothers in Season 1, Supercool in Season 2, and Pro Thunderball in Season 3). One of the more unique aspects of the show was how sketches would make frequent callbacks to previous jokes in the series. The references could refer to an earlier joke in an episode, or occasionally jokes from seasons prior.
