During World War II, the Indianapolis was a cruiser tasked with transporting critical components of the atom bomb. It was sunk by a Japanese torpedo and of the 1,196 men on board only 316 survived after enduring shark attacks, sickness and dehydration. Anyway, they delivered the bomb.
