Looks like you basic Hollywood sports/underdog story but still interesting. There hasn't been a really legitimate Mixed Martial Arts film to come out yet. There all either shady, underground, no rules fights or Redbelt. Not that there anything wrong with Redbelt, it's depiction of MMA is just a little out there. Bloodsports pretty good though...

Anyway Warrior seems like it has a good cast with the likes of Nick Nolte, Kurt Angle and Dan Hardy. Nick Nolte probably being a cornerman at somepoint, which if you want the have that classic gruff old corner man, your Micky Goldmill if you will, there no one out there better today than Nolte. Kurt Angle, olympic gold medalist and pro wrestler will probably play the arrogant sellout champion of the film which he's been doing for the past decade in either WWE or TNA. And Dan Hardy!

What do you guys think? Does this interest you if you are/aren't a fan of MMA? Do you think it does the subject matter justice? Is it just another sports movie? Or will you basically just see anything with Tom Hardy in it?

I like the idea of a Rocky style MMA movie because, for such a popular sport, it seems to still be incredibly marginalized. Even as near as a few months ago, Lights Out had the MMA episode where it was practically a fight to the death or, in the words of Patrick Leary's dad, two guys hugging each other for 15 minutes. That being said, the opening like 5 seconds of that trailer show a guy getting straight up powerbombed, something that has only ever happened like once with Rampage Jackson which makes me think the fight scenes are going to be kind of goofy.
