Watcher, rogue demon hunter, and a member of Angel Investigations
Wesley Wyndam-Pryce was raised in the household of a Watcher and to be one. To fallow in the footsteps of his father Roger, a highly respected member of the Watchers' Council. Growing up, Wesley attended a preparatory school where future Watchers were trained. He excelled becoming “Head Boy” and proceeded to become a Watcher. Fresh out of the Academy, Wesley was assigned to Sunnydale to become the new Watcher for the two Slayers, Faith and Buffy.
Buffy the vampire slayer's Watcher, Rupert Giles, was fired by the Watcher's council (“Helpless”) due the fact he was growing too close to his Slayer. Wesley Wyndam-Pryce was introduced as the new Watcher for Buffy and Faith in the episode “Bad Girls”. Immediately, Wesley's pompous attitude and lack of field experience turned off both Faith and Buffy.
Even Giles couldn't take him too seriously. Wesley's strict attitude turned the two Slayers away from him and they venture out on a wild party night. Unfortunately, Faith accidentally kills a man (Deputy Mayor Allan Finch) whom she mistakes for a vampire thus sending her on a downward spiral into a dark, evil place. This information was kept from Wesley and resulted in his interference with Angel's attempt to reason with and save Faith. Faith found herself under the watchful eye of the mayor, who pushes her towards truly becoming evil. Wesley appeals to the council to help Angel, who has been poisoned by Faith, the council refused to help, this doesn't go over well with Buffy and she leaves the Watcher's council. This leaves Wesley having lost not one, but two Slayers. The Council was left with no choice but to fire Wesley due to the previous events. Despite this, Wesley offers assistance to in the final battle against the evil Mayor. His performance in this battle was rather useless as he was incapacitated rather quickly. He somehow survives the battle and is taken away via ambulance.
