Plot Synopsis

The folk of Ponyville don their vests and gear for the annual Winter Wrap Up, where all they do their part to 'clean up' winter for the first day of spring. Always wanting to be take part in her new town's events, Twilight Sparkle is anxious to join. But this is easier said than done since, unlike in Canterlot, magic is not used to change the seasons. This is due to the town's founding as an earth pony village, so manually cleaning up winter has become tradition. While Twilight respects this, it leaves her with limited opportunities to help.

Meanwhile, the rest of the girls are put in charge of their usual duties. Rainbow Dash, with the rest of the pegasus weather team, clear up the clouds to let in the sun's warmth; as well as direct southbound birds back home. Applejack directs a team of farmhands and other earth ponies to shovel the show off the land so they may plant new crops. Pinkie Pie's team skate around on the lakes; the cuts allowing for the ice to melt faster when the sun shines. Fluttershy, as always, is put on animal duty: waking up the hibernating creatures in the area. Finally, Rarity is put in charge making flashy new nests for the returning birds.

Despite her best intentions and efforts, Twilight fails to help her friends at all of these tasks. In her attempts to help, ends up hurting herself or making her friends' assignments more difficult. Even after being pressured by Spike to use her magic, she only makes things worse.

While sulking in town she overhears an argument among the other ponies. It turns out that Ponyville has long had a problem around this time: spring always arriving "late"- and this year is no different. The weather team is being pressured on both sides to either delay or quicken the melting of the snow. Work has gotten behind not only due to Twilight's mistakes, but due to the mistakes of other ponies. The Major stresses that the teams need to be more organized or they will be late again. Twilight, naturally, takes up this opportunity with great enthusiasm. For if anyone is up for the task of organization, it's the book smart unicorn.

She takes charge of organizing the assignments for each team in a certain order; having them multitask, plan, and get creative with their methods. Once all that is done, the weather team are signaled to clear the clouds and start blowing away the leftover snow. Now additional planting can begin and, long into the night, the fruits of Twilight's efforts begin to show. In the end, for the first time in the longest while, spring arrives "on time": much to the joy of the Mayor and the folk of Ponyville. For her efforts, Twilight is given a special vest and role: All-Team Organizer. When it is all said in done, Twilight writes her letter letter to the princess. She writes about not only the benefits of friendship and teamwork but how if one is patient and diligent, they can find their hidden talents.
