I enjoy both films for what they are, but valid points on both sides. Ryan is completely correct though, nothing beats that highway chase scene. 
 
The Giant Bomb crew had a discussion on Die Hard 2 vs Die Hard 3 as well so you guys could settle one too.

3 is obviously better because Jacob is in it. I believe Mel Gibson is the real candidate

Chris Rock's problem is that he's an awful actor. He's a great comic - and I still find him amusing over the years, Never Scared was okay and Bring the Pain isn't old at all, but he can't act. He can either tell jokes or write jokes, in which he is quite competent. He's cursed to play a stand-up comedian whenever he appears - so he's cursed to play himself. That worked in Bad Company, mostly because he was put against Anthony Hopkins in Anthony Hopkins mode, but in Lethal Weapon 4 when paired with a cast that is fucking annoyed by what they are doing - it's just painful.
 
Lethal Weapon 3 is much worse. 4 at least had the remotely funny toilet seat scene, that fucked up chase and a villain that at least I remember, while 3 is a trainwreck, it's like watching Winnie the Pooh going all Conker's Bad Fur Day - it's Goddamn painful, like your childhood dying a horrible death in a microwave.

Yesss.. that was good, enjoyed this for sure!
