Bad guy dies convoluted and extremely painful death

The stars and planets align to guarantee the bad guys receives maximum pain!

Black Guys Always Die

The black male mutant dies in the beginning of the film. No other mutants die.

Confusing CIA and FBI

CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) is in charge of intelligence for foreign affairs. The FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) is in charge of tracking down crimes that cross more than one US state.

Getting Drunk is Harmless

Science says it is really, really bad for you; but movies say getting drunk is perfectly fine.

Gratuitous Female Nudity

Though, to be fair, Mystique can't really help it.

Hero And Villain Become Friends

Usually one of the protagonists adversaries become a friendly close to or at the movie's conclusion.

Heroic Sacrifice

A Heroic Sacrifice is when a character makes a sacrifice for the benefit and well-being of others. This is quite possibly the most prevalent cliche in cinema today.

Hero Is Unhittable By Bullets

No matter how many enemies he faces, no matter how many bullets are sprayed at him, the hero in this simply cannot be hit by bullets. There may be a token flesh wound at the end of the film, however.

"Hi, I'm Your New Partner...and I Don't Play by the Rules!"

The old school veteran cop gets a young new maverick partner who likes to break the rules. Hijinks ensue.

I Look Human, But I'm Not

For those characters that look human and act human and later turn out to be an alien, robot, demon, monster or something else.

I'm Going to Count to Three

Three is not pretty.

It's Always Winter In Russia!

Russia has eternal winters in western movies!

Shirtless!

Cool guys have muscles and they just love to show them off. The only way to do that is to take off their shirts and flex. These are the films that help them do that.

Teachers Are Hot And Young

My high school teachers never looked like they do on television ... damn you reality!

The Eye Scar

Azazel has one.

The One Black Guy

Darwin, who in the comics is actually gray (a color that seems to be the combination of being half-black and half-latino).

Training Montage

When a big tournament is on the horizon and it's crunch time for the protagonist you can be sure that an entire week's worth of board-breaking, stair-climbing and extreme meditation will be compressed into a two-minute slideshow set to electric guitar licks and/or heavy electric synthpop.

US Government is Corrupt

Blames ridiculous occurances on the US Government. Specific to the US Government.

Villain asks Hero to join them

We've all seen it. The Villain just wants a friend.

"We're Not so Different"

A common taunt made by the villain to the hero.
