It was being eluded to the entire movie. Even if you didn't know the canon I think you could definitely tell what her choice was going to be. I do agree it didn't feel real. They did make it seem like they were as tight as tight could be and then she just leaves him in a serious situation. But it did boil down to what each side wanted and Magneto wanted what she wanted.
Still, she left a man with whom she pretty much had a brotherly relationship standing there with a bullet hole in his back. She didn't even care if he was fine, if he could walk, etc.Charles new she wanted to go with Magneto casue he was 1 a bad ass 2 made her feel special 3 He was preaching a more pro mutant F intergration mantra which she agreed with
Well, in a sense they were building that rift for the entire movie. Raven always had a complex about her appearance and Charles never really took that seriously. Then Raven's failed relationship with Beast and then shacking up with Magneto...
Realistically though, it doesn't make sense. I even thought the bullet ricochet and paralyzing Charles happened too quick and too coincidentally to wrap up that scene. In that movieverse, I'm not even sure it makes sense to paralyze him.
In any case, a movie about mutant powers should be taken with a grain of salt.
@Snail: ah yes the whole why the hell is havok in this and not cyclops even though there brothers things. Well they said they wanted to keep it in contunuity of the previous movies, which makes no sense they ruined any good stroyline with X3. First Class is a perfect chance to just soft reboot it like Abrams did with Star Trek
I felt it was built up pretty well over the course of the movie, but I can certainly see how in the specific scene, her decision came off as a bit rash.
As for the choice of X-Men to include, I loved it. We've seen Storm, Cyclops, Rogue and so forth in 3 movies already. Using some new, lesser known mutants was a big part of why I loved this movie.
@kashif1 said:simple, i had no idea who he was and neither did most viewers, so they could play around with his story. Cyclops on the other hand is probably the second or third best known guy on the team,@Snail said:Then explain Banshee.Still, what confused me the most was the choice of the X-Men. I mean Havok was there, but Cyclops wasn't?Cyclops should be either a toddler or not born yet when this movie takes place
