Yay casting news! Right, yay? Nay? Well it's news nonetheless.  Here are a couple stories filling out more spots on the unannounced roster of X-Men: First Class

Coming out of the BFI's Movie-Con III this week is news that Jason Flemyng will be signing on to the film. Flemyng, who previously appeared in Clash of the Titans as Calibos, will play Azazel in this relaunch of the X-Men series. Nurdz will know that Azazel is a teleporter and the father of Nightcrawler. He will also reportedly have a tail in the film, done completely in post. Because real tails are hard to pull off?

Next up, it's looking like Damages star Rose Byrne may be on deck to play Dr. Moira MacTaggert. The character will play the love interest to James McAvoy's Charles Xavier. It appears that previous rumors of Rosamund Pike in the role weren't correct.

Lastly, and the one I'm perhaps most excited about, Deadline says that Oliver Platt has signed onto the cast as well. The Plattapuss will be playing a non-mutant character known as "The Man in Black." No relation to LOST's same-named character, I'm sure.

One thing is for absolute certain about this movie: There are a lot of effing people in it.

Don't care about this movie and most of the people in the movie weren't even a part of the first group of X-Men anyway.

Am I the only one who doesn't give a fuck about Charles X's love life?  Keep it in your pants, professor.

The Animated X-Men show in the mid-90s was far, far better than any of the big budget movies.

That rarely bodes well, either.

Azazel is from the universally reviled Chuck Austen run on Uncanny X-Men, and is pretty much the worst thing to come out of it. Fans have agreed that nothing from that run is canon.

I can't fathom why they'd put him in this movie when literally nobody likes him.

Nor is he Johnny Cash or Walter from Dark Tower...

Wow. People really aren't into this thing, are they? I was skeptical at first, but I'm willing to give it a chance. Unless I'm mistaken, Wolverine's not in this, right? If he's not, I'd be interested in seeing what they do without Wolverine to fall back on. The previous films were practically all about the Snikt-Bub.

I like Jason Flemyng & Rose Byrne a great deal but this is starting to seem more & more like that Wolverine character overload again.
