Quote: Batman

A simple recon mission. Observe and report! You'll each receive written evaluations detailing your *many* mistakes... Until then - good job... No battle plan survives first contact with the enemy. How you adjust to the unforseen is what determines success. And how you choose who leads determines character.

Characters

The Team
The Team

The team consists of Aqualad,Robin,Kid Flash,Superboy,Miss Martian and Artemis.Season two will see the introduction of Zatanna and possibly the addition of Wonder Girl Cassie Sandsmark. As they are not a public team like the Justice League, they do not have a name and as a result are just officially The Team and not Young Justice.

Aqualad is the leader of the team. He is level headed and is able to properly explain the plan to the rest of the team. Robin is the youngest member of the team at 13. He is the most experienced though due to his work with Batman. He wants to lead the team but doesn't always tell the team the plan.Kid Flash is 15 and the jokerster clown of the group. Wally likes to joke around and is laid back. Superboy is the most inexperienced of the group. He was awakened by the team when they found him in a pod. Miss Martian is the newest edition to the group. She joins the group after she joins her Uncle The Martian Manhunter on earth. She doesn't understand all of Earths customs causing a disturbance in the team. Artemis is the team's archer and is the most recent member to join the team. Roster changes will occur due to character deaths and others joining.

Character Relationships

Artemis & Kid Flash

Throughout season one, several characters have been hinted at some form of romantic attraction for one another. The first relationship is that of Wally West and Artemis. At first the two are shown to be at odds with one another but throughout the first part of the season,a romantic relationship between the two of them has been hinted at several times. While the two will not admit it, Miss Martian has suggested the two would make a great couple. Artemis however stated that Wally "was full of it"; despite that Wally seems to find it easy to talk to Artemis and has explained things like his skepticism of magic specifically to her. He also seemed to agree with her assessment that there was some form of science behind the Tower of Fate.

After finding Kent Nelson's cane floating in the air, both Wally and Artemis went for it, They were then both teleported to another part of the tower where they rescued Kent. At first Wally was rude to Nelson, leading Artemis to elbow him. Wally then put on the Helmet of Fate to save Nelson, allowing Nabu to possess his body and protect The Tower of Fate from Klarion the witch boy and Abra Kadabra. Nabu was then able to defeat the both of them and allowed Wally to regain his body but in return needed someone to ascend and give up their physical form. Kent decided it was his time to finally ascend and join his wife. Before disappearing, Kent gives Wally some advice stating "Find you own little spitfire, one who won't let you get away with nothin'". Presumably, he was referring to Wally and Artemis as a couple and was well aware of their compatibility or possibly their future together.

In the episode "Bereft", The Team had their memories erased by Psimon in the Bialyan desert. Kid Flash and Artemis wake up together and have no memory of each other, with Wally repeatedly referring to her as "Beautiful". He asks her why she's dressed like Green Arrow, and her reply is that it's most likely her father who had her dress up this way and most likely wants her to kill Wally. They later meet Miss Martian for the first time since their minds were wiped and tells them that they're her friends and that she "baked cookies for them". Artemis at first shows signs of Jealousy, leaving Wally to comment that he had never seen her before in his life. While unable to remember anything, she believes that her father sent her to kill Wally, though after her memory is restored she dismisses that and says that she had confused real life with a ninja movie she had seen about a "ninja girl whose ninja father sent her to kill her ninja boyfriend who was from a rival ninja clan. Wally then pointed that that would make him her "ninja boyfriend", much to her dismay and his delight. Though she was quick to say that at the time she had no memory of how annoying he was. Kid Flash also told her she was annoying when Robin then told the both of them to "get a room". In the final episode of Season One, Auld Aquaintances at the end Miss Martin and Superboy kiss, Zatanna kisses Robin, and Artemis and Wally finally kiss. In Season Two, Artemis and Wally are living together as a couple.

Miss Martin & Superboy

The other main relationship is that of Miss Martian and Superboy. The two first met in "Welcome to Happy Harbor" when she was brought to Mount Justice by her uncle Martian Manhunter. She seemed to take an instant liking to Superboy and even changed her shirt to match his, making him smile. Since they would be the only team members living there, they explored the place together and she suggested they have bedrooms directly across from one another. Before their encounter with Mister Twister, they introduced each other and she revealed her name is M'gann M'orzz but she prefers to go by her Earth name Megan. When she noticed Superboy's reaction, she told via telepathy "Don't worry Superboy, we'll find you an Earth name too". He reacted with hostility though as the telepathy reminded him of the G-Gnomes at Cadmus. She later went to check on him but he told her to go away. Afraid that he didn't like her, she told Robin and Kid Flash that she thought he didn't like her. They reminded her though of his super-hearing and that he probably heard everything she just said.

After she made a rookie mistake when battling Mister Twister, Superboy lashed out at her and ordered to stay out of the team's way. He later apologized for his outburst after she proved herself to the team. When on their first mission in "Drop Zone", Superboy stated that he didn't want to wear a stealth-tech uniform and in response Miss Martian told him that his clothes "totally" work for him. When Artemis joined the team she made a comment about Superboy, leading Megan to say she embarrassed him, to which Artemis replied that she didn't hear him say that. Days after, Megan was attempting to make dinner in the kitchen while Superboy was watching TV but with the only with the static on. Megan asks him whether he would like to help with dinner or for her turn the TV on. He replies no to both but walks into the kitchen anyway. Excited at the opportunity to work with Superboy in the kitchen, she begins to telekinetically pass him ingredients to use but loses control and accidentally sends them splattering all over him.

While in Bialya, the entire team had their memories erased by Psimon. After waking up, Miss Martian found Superboy angry and full of rage. When she mistook him for Superman due to the insignia on his t-shirt, he became very angry and even attacked her but she fought him off. She then meditates to regain her memories and regains memories of Superboy first but then remembers the other members of the team. Her feelings for Superboy are then restored and she knew she had to find him first. After finding and restoring the memories of the rest of the team, she suddenly receives a telepathic vision of Superboy in pain. Despite that she had to find Aqualad, shew flew off looking for Superboy. She flew off, following her telepathic link to Superboy and was caught off guard by Psimon. He accidentally made contact with her mind, allowing her to restore his memories before continuing her fight with Psimon.

However the relationship does not last as evidenced by at the beginning of Season Two, that Miss Martian and Superboy broke up sometime between the seasons and Miss Martian moves onto Superboy's friend Lagoon Boy.

Plot Summary

Season One

The Team is formed after the four main heroes introduced at the time ( Robin, Kid Flash, Aqualad, and Speedy ) decide they deserve to be promoted from sidekicks to full fledged heroes and be recognized as so by their mentors. This decision is met with harsh opposition from the Justice League and Speedy resigns from being Green Arrow's partner and becomes Red Arrow. After they discover Superboy at Cadmus Labs and uncover a mysterious organization controlling Cadmus, the young heroes ask Batman to allow them to form a covert team so they can conduct secret operations that the Justice League can't do because of the celebrity status. Martian Manhunter's niece M'gann is introduced the team as Miss Martian and later Artemis Crock becomes a member as a replacement for Roy who only unofficially works with the team.

Throughout the season, The Team encounters various members of a criminal organization called The Light led by Ra's Al Ghul. Red Tornado also went rouge after being reprogrammed by his creator Professor T.O. Morrow. During that time Mount Justice is attacked by two other robots created by Morrow-Red Inferno and Red Torpedo.

Season Two

Taking place five years after Season One, The Justice League and The Team have both expanded. Earth has been secretly invaded by an alien race called the Kroloteans, Vandal Savage and The Light took control of six members of the Justice League for sixteen hours during which the Justice League attacked the planet Rimbor. Red Arrow is revealed to be a clone of Speedy who was replaced by the clone soon after becoming Green Arrow's sidekick. Tim Drake also becomes Robin sometime after Season One but before Season Two and Dick Grayson becomes Nightwing while Wally and Artemis both give up their superhero identities until the episode "Bloodlines" when Wally puts the suit back on again and Artemis rejoins The Team in "Depths"

Other Media

Young Justice
Young Justice

Young Justice is based on the comic book team of the same name and not the Teen Titans as some confused them with. The biggest difference between Young Justice and The Teen Titans was that The Titans were trying to establish themselves as individual heroes and get away from their mentors in the Justice league, the heroes in Young Justice intended be the Justice League someday. The main differences between the team on the show and one in the comics is that Robin is Dick Grayson and Wally West is on the team instead of Tim Drake and Bart Allen as Impulse. Also different is the fact that Kid Flash is part of the team instead of Impulse. The team would later include Arrowette, Slobo, The Ray, and even Beast Boy

Similar to the comics is that the team is based in Happy Harbor and is sort of led by Red Tornado. The TV version is more of a hybrid of both the Teen Titans and Young Justice. The Team will later include Wonder Girl, Zatanna, and Beast Boy.

The original comic ran for 55 issues, spread across five years. The team began with only three members, Tim Drake, Superboy, and Impulse but soon expanded with Cassie Sandsmark, Arrowette, and Secret joining. Later Empress, Slobo, and The Ray joined as well.

Currently, the show has a spin off comic aimed at kids. According to Greg Weisman, the comic is canonical with the show. In the comic, it is explained that the shirt Superboy wears is something he bought at a store. The series is on it's eighth issue set to be released on September 21,2011.
