Culture impact

•     White zombie's song Electric Head part 2 has a line " With a fist full of hair and a splinter in the mind" is a reference to the wooden splinter though the eye scene.
  
                                                                                                               

• The American poster has been in various movies like summer school and Morgan Steward's coming and also the bumper sticker Fulci lives with worm face zombie. 
  

• The movie is known by various names around the world. Like Zombi 2, Zombie, Island of the Dead, Woodoo, Zombie Flesh Eaters, and Island of the Flesh Eaters.
  

• Dr. Butcher, M.D., Zombie Holocaust, and Queen of the Zombies were shot on some of the same sets that was used on Zombie.

Goofs

• The camera pulls in for a close up on the jeep window and you can see a crew member in the reflection.

• In a radio broadcast the mayor of New York issued a state of emergency. Only the President can issue it.
  

• The stand off in the church, Various Molotov cocktails are thrown at the zombies. The fire seems to disappear when a new one is thrown. 
  

• The shark bites off the zombies arm in the underwater fight, but in the next scenes the zombies arm returns.
  

• Brian fires rapidly at the shark underwater. The rifle he fires is bolt action and he never touches it after each shot.
  

• The New York harbor patrol boat has a French flag on it. 
  

• Dr. Menard's wife pushes the same dresser against the door twice.
  

• When the Bald fat zombie falls into the water, his head pops back up on the bottom corner of the scene.
  

• When Brian is bitten his shirt has a drop of blood on it. When they bring him to the hospital his shirt is completely covered in blood. After the first zombie, his shirt has less blood than before.
