Close your eyes and picture a world where Zooey Deschanel’s on TV every week. It’s pleasant, no? Deadline says the lady’s just been locked to headline the pilot for a comedy show with the just-too-scandalous working title Chicks and Dicks. Whiskey marketing maven Daniel’s all-time favorite indy rock singer will play Jessica, “an optimistic but unlucky in love elementary school teacher who, after her most recent break-up, moves out of her apartment with her ex and moves in with three juvenile guys.”
Fifty bucks says XboxLive sessions will be part of those guys’ juvenilia…
This show’s the brainchild of Liz Meriwether, one part of the entertainment “Fempire” Diablo Cody also supposed to be a member of. She most recently wrote that Nat Portman/ Ashton Kutcher romp about commitment- less sex, No Strings Attached.
Keep in mind, this is just a pilot and there’s no guarantee it'll get a series (or even get broadcast officially.) Even if doesn't, though, I imagine Ms. Deschanel will make her way to TV eventually. She reportedly opted out of doing a stint on the Office for this, so she definitely seems to have her reticle on the small screen.
